Theodosia Burr Alston
In the 2015 musical sensation "Hamilton," Theodosia's father, fourth Vice President of the United States Aaron Burr, sings a song to his young daughter about his dreams for her life in the newly independent country of America. Many people don't know that Burr's daughter Theodosia suffered a tragic fate. She was slandered with the rumors that she had an incestuous relationship with her father. She was greeted by tragedy once again when she helps her father try to break away from the West, then flees the country when he is tried for treason. And Her son died of malaria in June 1812. In 1813, she boarded a schooner that shoved off from Georgetown, South Carolina and she was never seen again.
