2022's Most Anticipated Albums

Lydia -

2022 is already proving to be an exciting year for music, with many highly anticipated albums being released. With so many great albums coming out, there's something for everyone to enjoy! What’s your 2022's most anticipated album?

Taylor Swift: Red (Taylor's Version)

Taylor Swift is back with her much anticipated re-recorded version of her 2008 classic, Red. Red (Taylor's Version) features all 26 original songs but with new recordings and production, creating a whole new experience for old and new fans alike. Fans of the original album will rediscover their old favorites with a fresh, new sound, while newcomers will be blown away by the timeless classics that Taylor has delivered.

The album features some of her most beloved songs, such as "Love Story," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," and "22", and is sure to bring the same joy and nostalgia to music-lovers of all ages. Red (Taylor's Version) is the perfect way to celebrate Taylor's career and give us all a reminder of why we fell in love with her music in the first place.

100 gecs: 10000 gecs

With their upcoming album 10000 gecs, the electronic music duo 100 gecs plans to increase the amount of gecs (whatever gecs are). The hyper pop electronic music duo is Laura Les and Dylan Brady, and they don't seem to be in any hurry to give up the chaotic noises they use in their songs. The duo took a sabbatical and put out independent albums and singles. Last year, Dylan's band Cake Pop 2 released their debut album, and Les released her first solo single, "Haunted."

The only thing that is known about the new album is that it might have more of a pop-punk vibe. Also, sources claim that compared to their earlier works, the new album will sound much more "popular" and sophisticated. Les could even sing without their distinctive auto tune voice.

Brockhampton: TBA

After their time as a boy band, Brockhampton developed somewhat of a cult following. The group's upcoming album is expected to be their final recording as a unit. Kevin Abstract asserts that "everyone wants to pursue other stuff. It will be awesome.

The album was originally scheduled for release in late 2022, but it was delayed while the group tried out new members. Like previous Brockhampton releases, nothing is known about this one, but fans are hoping for another genre-defying cult classic.

Charli XCX: Crash

As she does with each new album she releases, Charli XCX is in a new phase. For her upcoming album Crash, she released the first single, "Good Ones," in which she danced on a coffin while dressed entirely in black latex. This might represent the end of her previous phase and the beginning of a darker, more evil one.

The album is expected to have contributions from a variety of producers. Charli's lead single featured inspirations from the 1980s, so fans may expect another synth-pop smash! Several songs on the album are expected to be produced by artists like Oneohtrix Point Never, who most recently contributed to the Weeknd's incredible album Dawn FM.

Kendrick Lamar: TBA

Kendrick Lamar's last album, DAMN, which became a worldwide sensation, was released five long years ago. The rapper Kendrick Lamar eventually tweeted about his next album in August of last year. After 17 years, it said, "I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural stamp as I produce my final TDE album."

Since his major-label debut album, Good Child, MAAD City, Kendrick has had a phenomenal run of releasing classic after classic, and fans everywhere are breathlessly waiting for him to launch another. As with every prior album, Kendrick has been incredibly vague about what to anticipate.

Everyone is anticipating new music from Kendrick Lamar after his previous collaborations with Baby Keem on his album The Melodic Blue and the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Given how wonderfully each of his albums has performed, Kendrick should deliver an immediate classic.

SZA: TBA

The year of SZA was 2017. Everywhere you went, her album CTRL was playing. Fans are now excitedly awaiting the release of SZA's long-awaited new album. Social media was used to spread rumors about delays brought on by problems with her label, TDE.

Fans are enthusiastic about SZA's recent activities since they believe them to be a precursor to the release of a future album, such as her appearances on Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More" and Kali Uchis' "Fue mejor." The upcoming album is scheduled to be released in the middle of 2022, according to Billboard.
